Here at First United Methodist Church LIFE groups are becoming the lifeblood of our church. We are commited to see each person in our faith community grow in faith.

LIFE groups are intended to help people build community in smaller groups within the church. The focus of each group is to deepen Christian discipleship through:

LIFE groups are updated on an ongoing basis. We hope to offer something for everyone. Please get involved in a LIFE group that fits your needs. LIFE for us stands for Living In Faith Everyday. We pray that you will be supported by the LIFE group that is best for you.

• Learning and Growing Together LIFE group

Learning and growing together LIFE group meets on Sunday evenings at 5:30pm at 1326 Parkmoor Rd. The leader and contact for this group is Gary Johnson, if you are interested in attending this group or for more information feel free to call him at 315-2630.

• Mission LIFE group

Mission LIFE group is focused on preparing for a trip to Haiti. If you are interested in more information about this group or this project please contact Steve Quakenbush at 275-0839.

• Breaking Free LIFE group

Breaking Free LIFE group is a Bible Study for survivors of abuse/domestic violence. The class will begin in the fall, if you are interested in attending this group, or for more information please contact Susan Jones at 275-7603.

• Stamping LIFE group

Stamping LIFE group is a group of women who get together to stamp one Saturday of each month. For more information please contact Rose Loehr at 275-2153. This group is currently closed.

• Financial Peace University LIFE group

Financial Peace University LIFE group is dedicated to learning together how to better manage the resources God has given us. If you are interested in attending the next 13 week class please contact Emily Earnshaw at 275-0681.

• Couples LIFE group

Couples LIFE group is dedicated to fellowship and strengthening marriage. During the summer the group plans to meet once a month. For more information about this group please contact Jera Dalton at 269-3888.

• Yarn LIFE group

Yarn LIFE group is a new group starting in June. If you are interested in working with yarn and enjoying the company of others who knit, and crochet, please contact Anne Courter for more information at 315-2779.

• Praise Band LIFE group

Praise Band LIFE group is all about worship music! The group meets to practice on Wednesday evenings at 8:00pm in the Sanctuary. For more information about how you can praise the Lord through music and help lead worship from time to time please contact Denny Sillaman at 275-4409.

• Fly Fishing LIFE group

Fly Fishing LIFE group is for fellowship and fly fishing. If you are interested in fishing with a few other guys please contact Dave Wall at 275-2014.

• Drama LIFE group

Drama LIFE group has a flare for theatrics. If you enjoy being in front of an audience, this is the group for you! For more information about upcoming performances please contact Denny Sillaman at 275-4409. 

• Thursday Morning LIFE group

Thursday Morning LIFE group is a study based group who will be taking a rest over the summer. If you are interested in growth primarily through study, this is a great group for you. Watch for more information as we head into fall.

• Men's LIFE group

A small group of men meet together on Sunday evenings at Verle's house, 907 Myrtle Street, at 7:00pm.  The topic of the study is prophetic bible study, but there is also great fellowship.
