Music and Worship
The Music and Worship Ministry of FUMC exists to provide worship experiences that speak to all ages, generations, and cultures of people. We believe worship to be a creative expression of our faith in our Creator and Redeemer. Worship is a time for fellowship, but more importantly, a time to focus on Christ and allow Him to lead our lives.

To become involved in the music ministry, you need no prior musical training. We provide the training! You do need to have a heartfelt love for the Lord that is expressed in a personal commitment that assists the church in its worship by your own faithful practice and participation.

How can I become involved in the Music and Worship Ministry?
..
Hospitality Team: These teams are made-up of 10 people each and include greeters, ushers, and our Helping Hands (Welcome Center helpers). Our goal is to create a culture of radical hospitality in which we “Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7) We actively desire to invite, welcome, receive, and care for our guests so that they may find a spiritual home and discover for themselves the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ…no strings attached!

Liturgist: During worship, lead the congregation through the reading of the Bible or other readings that enhance the worship experience.

Communion Steward: Become involved in the Sacrament of Holy Communion by helping the Pastor(s) share the bread and the cup with worshippers on the first Sunday of every month.

Worship Arts: Do you like decorating? Are you creative? Join this team in decorating the altar around the worship theme and decorating our worship spaces around the different Christian seasons (Advent, Lent, Pentecost, etc.).

Acolytes: Help us in coordinating the acoloytes for our 11:00 service or maybe your child would like to carry the light of Christ into worship on Sunday morning! Let us know or check out our Children and Family Ministries for more information.

Drama Team: Are you a ham? Do you like to be someone you’re not? This is the team for you. We like to include drama in our worship services and if you love to act or create sets, we invite you to join our team. If you are interested, contact Pastor Don.

Chancel Choir: Lift up your voice in praise to God! Join us on Wednesday nights and help us create a worship experience that draws worshippers into a deeper connection with Jesus Christ. The choir sings only at the 11:00 worship service and sings almost every Sunday. Contact Jeff Lamborn, Choir Director, for more information.
Handbell Choir: Want to join a bunch of ding-a-lings? Our awesome bell choir provides special music throughout the year. To learn more contact Kelly Albrecht, Handbell Choir Director, at 276-9286.
Praise Band: Our goal is to have a praise band active within the year that can help lead our praise songs at the 8:30 service and occasionally at the 11:00 service. If you love to sing contemporary songs or if you love to play guitar, keyboard, drums, bass or electric guitar, or other kinds of instruments, let us know! Contact Pastor Emily Neely.

Tech Team: Join our team that works the sound board and helps with the running of our video presentations at both services. All Computer Geeks Accepted!

Join the Team!: An opportunity to serve with the Worship Team in providing these opportunities and more! We meet every other month after the 11:00 service and provide guidance to the overall music and worship program.
