Rev. Koyl was born in Canada in 1855.  He moved to Missouri in 1869 and came to Colorado in 1875, joining the church at Rosita in 1878.  He was a pastor at Buena Vista in 1880, holding the first Methodist service there and he built the first church.  "He is an able minister...a faithful pastor and a judicious manager of the important interests committed to his care."
